Growing Newsome plant swap – 29th May 2010

Saturday 29th May

10am to 12 noon

Newsome Scout Hall

Please come along to get together with other food growers, swap plants and seeds, get advice (or give advice) about growing your own food and find out what’s going on in the Newsome area. This event is for anyone who wants to grow their own food in Newsome.

The event will include:

• Plant swap / sale – lots to choose from

• Seed planting activities

• Reading Circle book stall (with all sorts of books)

• Tea, coffee and home made cakes

• Allotments information and food growing advice

• Information about community activities in Newsome

Don’t worry if you don’t have anything to swap – you can stock up on plants in exchange for a small donation. If you’re an experienced food grower, please come and share what you know with other growers.

You can also find out how you can get involved in food growing projects in the Newsome Ward, such as planting events, our community allotment, working with local schools, looking after our community orchard and lots more.

Children are welcome and admission is free.
