Stirley Farm Open Day 2013

people and cattle at Stirley FarmCome and join us on the Farm…

The Annual Open Day at Stirley Farm is on Sunday 1st September from 11am to 3pm. There will be opportunities to see the new Cre8 Barn (which will be opened on the day!) and learn about why it is sustainable; explore the site and find out about progress so far and plans for the future; meet the cattle; explore the food growing areas and join in free, fun games and activities for all ages. Home grown lunches will be for sale and we’ll have lots of goodies on the Growing Newsome produce stall – jam, chutney, elderflower cordial, recipes, plants and tasters. The Reading Circle book stall will also be there.

Spread the word…

Please come and join us, bring your friends and family. You can also help by putting up a poster:

Lend a hand…

If you would like to volunteer on the day, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust would love a hand putting up gazebos and tents, welcoming people on the gate, showing people round the veg gardens, hosting kids activities, putting up posters, handing out flyers and clearing up at the end of the day. To help anytime between 8am and 6pm please email annie.russell@ywt.org.uk

Competition on the day…..

For all visitors to our open day, but particularly those who have helped us out as volunteers, we would love to hear your feedback about your experience of Stirley Community Farm. Please come and find the evaluation stall on the day and return an evaluation ‘postcard’ for the chance to win a fantastic prize!
