Sunday 13th July 2014
From 12 noon to 4pm
Newsome Bowling Green

We’re taking part in a Family Fun Day to help showcase a fantastic community facility right in the centre of Newsome. Come along to find out more about the Newsome Community Sports and Bowling Club, including how people of all ages can get involved.

Many people don’t know about the club, so to celebrate this hidden treasure we’ll be revealing some of our own secret ingredients. Come and see if you can identify some of the edible plants we’re growing at the moment. You’ll be surprised what you can find in Newsome.

The entrance to the green is off Church Lane, Newsome village (opposite Newsome Surgery and the Chemists).

Buying in bulk…

fleece covering vegetable plantsIs there anything that you would like Growing Newsome to buy in bulk to help you with growing your own food?

Last year we bought some big rolls of plant protection fabric (fleece and enviromesh) which were available for you to buy at our events. It worked out much cheaper per metre as we were buying for all of us together.

Would you like Growing Newsome to do more of this sort of thing?

Please let us know if you’d like to be able to buy plant protection materials at our Autumn Gathering event (27th October) or at our events next Spring. Please also let us know if there’s anything else you’d like to be able to buy at our events in Newsome, and we’ll see what we can do.

We want to help people to grow their own food, so if there’s something we can supply that would help you, please let us know. You can leave a reply on this page, or email: growingnewsome@gmail.com
