Do you love food and hate waste?

love food hate waste logoLook out for the ‘Love Food, Hate Waste’ stall at our Growing Newsome event on 17th May 2014 from 10am to 1pm at Newsome Scout Hall.

There will be some simple tools available to help us all cut down on the amount of food that we waste.

Come and pick up some free bag clips, a rice measure and other things to help you store and measure food at home and cut down on waste.

There will also be advice and tips on offer such as:

  • How to preserve fruit and vegetables to make them last longer.
  • Advice on portion control so that food isn’t wasted.
  • Recipe ideas for using up leftovers.
  • Advice on date labels and what to do with items past their ‘best before’.

Our thanks to Kirklees Council for providing these activities.
