Seed Safari at Stirley Farm Kid’s Club

Wednesday 7th August, 10am to 12 noon

Learn all about the amazing world of seeds, their life cycles and how we use them.
Go on a seed safari and make and decorate a fantastic packet for your foraged seeds.

Wednesday 14th August, 10am to 12 noon

Find out about the incredible predators we have at the farm and their unfortunate prey! Take part in some great games, do some role play and go nature spotting and minibeasting around the farm.

Land Art Extravaganza at Stirley Kid’s Club

Wednesday 21st August, 10am to 12 noon

Take inspiration from great land artists like Andy Goldsworthy and from the beauty of nature to make fantastic natural sculptures, print with vegetables and leaves and use natural colours to draw and dye!

Rummaging, Recycling & Rotting at Stirley Kids Club

Saturday 28th August, 10am to 12 noon

Join us at Stirley Farm and learn all about the fascinating world of composting and the mini beasts it supports. Play games and make crafts out of recycled materials!

Stirley Farm Kids Clubs are free and suitable for a range of ages.

Please wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Parents and Community Eco-friendly Course 2012

Hillside Primary School logoHillside Primary School have been running a very successful gardening course for parents and others in the local community. The course is now expanding to take on more activities – and there are a few place left if you’d like to join in.

The course is fortnightly on a Wednesday from 9am to 11am at Hillside Primary on Headfield Road in Newsome.

The next class is on 26th September 2012.

 

This term, as well as growing vegetables, participants will be cooking with their harvest, learning about garden design, recycling at home, getting energy saving tips and making natural Christmas decorations.
