Growing Newsome Community allotment

Allotment sunset header
We have a Community Allotment in Newsome for local food growers to share – please get in touch if you’d like to get involved. It’s ideal for anyone who wants a bit of support with growing their own food, or anyone who can offer advice to novice growers. By getting together, we’re all helping each other to grow our own food there. You’re welcome to come along as little or as often as you can. Refreshments provided.

We’re looking for new volunteers

From sitting down sowing some seeds in our potting shed to doing some digging or helping with DIY tasks, there’s something to suit everyone. It’s a great way to learn and to meet people, or just to spend some quiet time outdoors.

Spring at our allotment

Can you spare a couple of hours? We have plenty to do at this time of year – sowing and tending thousands of seeds, potting things on, getting our vegetable growing beds dug over and starting to plant out this year’s crops.

Any time you can give will really help our growing community. Help is also welcome with fetching more supplies, such as compost, which we needs lots of.

Join us for our regular session at the weekend, or for ad hoc sessions during the week. All welcome.
