Newsome Neighbour Day – Saturday 22nd October

more in common

Newsome Neighbour Day

Saturday 22nd October 2016

From 11am to 1pm

Newsome Scout Hall, Newsome Road South  HD4 6JJ

We’re taking part in this community event on Saturday, organised by Newsome LEP, where you can get to know others in the local area. It’s inspired by Hope not Hate’s “More in Common” campaign, which aims to bring our communities back together.

Growing Newsome are providing homegrown soup for lunch, and we’ll also have a stall if you’d like to drop by and say hello. Lunch will be available from around 12 noon.

Neighbour Day

Newsome Neighbour Day aims to encourage community involvement, action and cooperation.

Please come along to:

  • Meet your neighbours and enjoy each other’s company.
  • Learn what skills local people can offer.
  • Find out what practical things people need help with.

If you’d like, you can also take part in a practical task (such as a community clean-up) in the afternoon.

There will be stalls and activities at the Scout Hall including:

  • Benefits advice
  • Shared Lives carers
  • Meet your local councillors
  • Kirklees Youth Service
  • The Reading Circle
  • Tenants and Residents Association
  • Schools
  • Craft activities
